A Wholesome and Playful Identity for Organic Kids’ Food

Designing the logo suite for Sprout meant creating a visual identity that felt fresh, approachable, and nourishing while appealing to both young children and their parents. As an organic food brand for kids and babies, Sprout needed a logo system that was simple yet playful—capturing the joy of childhood while reinforcing the brand’s natural and wholesome values.

Discovery & Strategy

The kids' organic food market often swings between clinical aesthetics and overly playful, cartoonish designs. Sprout’s logo suite aimed to strike the perfect balance—modern and clean, yet warm and inviting while embodying three key principles: freshness, simplicity, and nourishment.

The name "Sprout" naturally suggested themes of growth and vitality, so the strategy focused on a visual approach that emphasized organic softness, movement, and warmth. The logo suite had to work seamlessly across packaging, digital platforms, and marketing materials while maintaining a strong, recognizable identity.

Concept Development & Design

The primary Sprout logo features a soft, rounded wordmark designed to feel approachable and organic. The custom typography includes smooth curves and gentle letterforms, reinforcing the brand’s fresh and nourishing essence. The tagline "fresh, simple, nourishing" was incorporated to further emphasize the brand’s mission.

A key component of the logo suite is the illustrated mascot, a cheerful, walking orange character named Sunny. This playful element brings a sense of energy and friendliness to the brand, making it instantly appealing to kids while maintaining a nostalgic yet modern aesthetic. The character adds versatility to the logo system, working as a standalone icon or integrated with the wordmark for different applications.

The color palette consists of earthy, natural tones—soft greens, warm oranges, and creamy neutrals. These colors enhance the organic feel of the brand while keeping the logo visually appealing and adaptable across different backgrounds.

Delivery & Production

The final logo suite includes a primary wordmark, secondary logo variations, and the mascot in multiple formats for flexibility across packaging, social media, and in-store displays. The design was optimized for scalability, ensuring clarity and visual impact across various sizes and applications.

With this logo suite, Sprout achieves a perfect balance of warmth, playfulness, and organic simplicity. The result is a charming yet polished visual identity that reinforces the brand’s wholesome mission and makes a lasting impression in the organic kids' food market.
